Taxpertise, LLP is a boutique tax firm founded in 2013 by Kristene Rosser and Debi Corrie with a mission to simplify tax preparation for our clients. Meet the Founders
Kristene Rosser
Kris started her career with the United States Army as an auditor in 2007 conducting information technology and general ledger audits resulting in savings for the department totaling over $40 million annually. In 2009, she volunteered for the Iraq audit team and spent the next two years assisting the Department of Defense Joint Base Operations with the drawdown. This included contract, financial, operational, and material audits.
In the community, Kris served on the Greater Gateway Association of Realtors (GGAR) as Director, Vice President, President Elect, President, and Immediate Past President; Collinsville Chamber of Commerce as Treasurer, President, and Chairman of the Horseradish Festival; Residential Real Estate Council as Illinois Financial Leader; and Greater St. Louis Area Council BSA Training Committee as Vice Chair of Venturing. As the President/Immediate Past president of GGAR, she spearheaded the merger of two local Realtor Boards to create the Southwestern Illinois Board of Realtors (SIBR) where she served as Immediate Past President and Finance Chairman. The merger was an ongoing discussion over the last 30+ years, and Kris’ efforts allowed for the merger to pass November 2023. Kris currently serves as the Finance Chairman for SIBR and is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Federal Taxation Committee.
Kris Earned her Master of Science in Accounting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
Her professional and community awards include Greater St. Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America District Award of Merit, The James E West Fellowship Award, several leadership and training awards, and the Silver Beaver award which is the highest award a local council can bestow on a Volunteer. She isalso a Vigil member of the National Honors Society of the BSA, the Order of the Arrow. Kris earned the title of 2023 Realtor of the Year for SIBR and obtained Hall of Fame status within the Realtor Political Action Committee, one of the largest labor PACs in the nation.
Debi Corrie
Debi started her career in the private sector. She has helped businesses in the transportation industry, construction, professional services, restaurants, e-commerce, retail, and real estate in her 35-year professional career. She owns two other companies: Acumaxum, LLC and DJC Media, LLC.
Debi received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a major in accounting from the University of St. Louis while working full time. She is a CPA, CGMA, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP). She has served as a past board member for the Professional Woman’s Alliance of St. Louis and the Inventors Association of St. Louis. She has served as a mentor for the Parkway School District’s Spark program. She has also taught classes at Scott Air Force base for entrepreneurs. She currently serves on the Board of the Women’s Safe House of St. Louis and on the board of St. Louis Forum.
Her professional and community awards include Top 10 Business Advisor awards from Small Business Monthly, Gateway to Dreams recipient for Person of Inspiration, finalist in the Thank You Small Business Wards, Titan 100, and the STL Leaders award. She has been featured by CBS News, NBC, Fox, Market Watch, Star Tribune and the Herald. Her articles have been featured in Small Business Monthly and Lead Up for Women Magazine. She recently spoke at the National EOS conference and has been featured on their national podcast “We Run On EOS.” She is an international best-selling author and has 4 published books, including “Loving Failure – Getting Control of Your Business Health.” She is a sought-after expert for speaking, podcasts and webinars.
